Bill Bruford - Jeff Berlin - Charles Johnson
Musician's Institute, Hollywood, Fall of 1981 (or maybe early 1982).

I can't remember the exact date for this recording except I did it myself, so this is a direct copy of the master cassette. This is an audience recording, and I think the quality is pretty good (check the sample). It is short, only two songs, but I think it is pretty unique too. It hasn't circulated before.

Bill Bruford - Drumset
Jeff Berlin - El. Bass
Charles Johnson - El. Guitar

It is the opening for a Bill Bruford clinic at the Musician's Intitute in Los Angeles. It looks like I didn't record the clinic itself, or maybe I will find it on another cassette, someday.

01 - Unknown Song
02 - Jeff Berlin introducing the musicians
03 - Unknown Title (I know this song but I can't remember what it is)

It was after Jeff Berlin participated in Bill Bruford's band. At the time, Jeff Berlin was teaching at the Musician's Institute, and he invited Bill Bruford to do a clinic. Around that time also, Bill Bruford was playing (mostly Simmons drums) with King Crimson (Discipline).

This one is really cool to hear BB in a loose, informal, jamming setting. Very rare for him to do that! Good close-up aud. recording too! --dandor

The 3rd track is based on "Fainting in Coil" isn't it? Many Thanks.
