Roger Waters - NPR - World Cafe - 14-Oct-2005

This is a nice 25 min interview, mostly on the subject of Ca Ira & Live 8.

12-July-06 Roger Waters - Lucca, Piazza Napoleone

The first half of the Lucca concert was broadcast on a local radio station. The DJ chatter is a little annoying, as I do not speak Italian & so, therefore, have no idea what they're saying. But, you can't go wrong with a soundboard recording of Wish You Were Here or Sheep!!!

Joe Boyd - She Comes In Colours - 4-9-07

I know that the issue of the date format will probably come up again... Well, I got this show from a different forum & I never did follow-up about the date. So, I really have no idea. The file was created in October 2007, so that's not really helpful. Had it been August, things would've been simple.

Joe was promoting his book, White Bicycles, which is really entertaining if you haven't read it. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Boyd for about a minute or so back in May 2007. Whereas I hate to draw conclusions about a person from so short a meeting, let me just say that he had a big smile and a friendly handshake.

Gilmour - 2006-March-13 In The Studio

This is a great 1 hour long interview. Apparently, I have it from 2 different sources. To be honest, I don't remember how that happened. I included both sources in the archive, though.

This is the last of the "On An Island" radio shows that I have... I've still got about 50 or so other Pink Floyd radio shows to plow through... Most of what is to follow will be lossless from original promo CDs and things...

Part 2
Part 3
Part 4

Gilmour - 2006-April-11 WMMR

This is a nice little interview. It's about 22 min long. The interview was archived by the radio station on their web site in .mp3 format. So, that's what I am passing along here...

Gilmour - On An Island - The Single - World Premier

The very first time that the first song from On An Island was played on the radio was on Steve Wright's show. Tune in, again, to that magic moment here.....

2006-Feb-14 White Label - DJ review of OAI

The radio show's hosts had just gotten their copy of OAI and were playing bits of it on the BBC for the first time, talking about meeting Dave and how great the album sounds, etc. It's only about 9 minutes long, but it is fun to hear how genuinely excited they were to be playing the album.

2006/08/24-25 Gilmour & Mason interview - Italian radio - Paradiso

See the original web page here. There were two parts - each of which was pretty extensive & in good quality. Sadly, neither remains available online. However, you can grab the whole darn thing here -

Pink Floyd - 2006-April-1 French radio

From Brain Damage - "Tomorrow, the French branch of RTL broadcasts a Pink Floyd special on its radio service. Each week, George Lang tells the story of a major artist or band, using interviews with the performers themselves. Tomorrow (April 1st) at 11pm (CET) the two-hour show looks at the Pink Floyd story. You can listen to the live stream of the radio station by going to "

I recorded 3 hours - just in case - and all three hours are full of Floyd and at least one person speaking French. I don't speak French, so am rather hard pressed to describe the content. I do not hear any band interview segments.

Gilmour - 2006-March Album Of The Week (Radio 2)

Each day of the week, a morning radio program on BBC Radio 2 would play a new song from On An Island along with some of Mr. Gilmour's thoughts on the song. At the time, I could capture RealMedia as .wav files, so that's what you're going to get if you download this one - .rar files that package the .shn files made from my .wav files preserving the .rm files from the BBC web site. B-) It's madness, I know. But, you'll get all five installments in just 3 parts!

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Gilmour - 2006-March-27

Approximately 25 minutes of interview. The .mp3s were available for download shortly after the broadcast. They talk about the origins of art, how Dave picks his setlists, and loads of other weirdness.

Gilmour - 2006-March-13 Capital Gold Radio Interview

original web page here Download the interview segments here

Gilmour - 2006-March-06 Q107 (Toronto)

The Canadian "On An Island" premiere.. Much the same interview with Jeff Woods that appears below. But, this version has a lot more music in it. It's a 1 hour, 20 min web capture. Enjoy!

Gilmour - 2006-March-05 KZPS Dallas

This is a 52 min interview . Mostly OAI music with some thoughts sprinkled here & there. It's a web stream capture.

Gilmour - 2006-March-07 - NPR

This is a 4-minute review of On An Island, not an interview. But, it's a nice review! Taken from the NPR web site.

Gilmour - 2006-March-04 DG BBC Radio 2 Jonathan Ross

An interview of about 35 minutes or so on the subject of Mr. Gilmour's birthday and the release of On An Island. Quite a lot of talk about the recording process & aging. We also learn as which animal Mr. Gilmour would care to be reincarnated. I have included both a web stream and an off-air recording.

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

Gilmour - 2006-March-02 - Front Row

A thirteen minute interview on Astoria. It's obviously mostly on the subject of On An Island, but there are other little tangents here & there. The version shared here is an off-air recording, for maximum listening pleasure.

Gilmour - 2006-April - Ken Bruce - Tracks Of My Years

Ken Bruce (BBC Radio) played two of Mr. Gilmour's favorite songs each day for a week on the last week of April-2006. Mr. Gilmour shares his thoughts on each song. This is another web stream capture.

Part 1
Part 2

Gilmour - 2006-Feb - Jeff Woods

Excerpts from David's interview with Legends of Classic Rock host Jeff Woods, recorded aboard the Astoria in February 2006.

Gilmour - 2006-April-15 - Sirius Radio

From the web site at the time, "US RADIO INTERVIEW WITH DAVID GILMOUR - TOMORROW: Sorry for the short notice - but tomorrow (Saturday April 15th), David's interview with Sirius Radio airs on Channel 18/The Spectrum at 3pm Eastern Time. David talks with The Spectrum's Dave Mac about life as a family man and musician, and plays some songs from his new album, On An Island."

It was not easy to hack the web stream... But, it seemed the only option on such short notice. It's a 47 min interview that is very worthwhile. I wish the quality was a little better. But, we can't have everything, can we ?

Gilmour - 2006-April-7 - Capitol Radio - Italy

This is an hour-long interview. This is a web stream recorded by a friend on a home CD Recorder. (I was away at the time.) I ripped the audio to .shn for y'all.

Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
Part 5

I neglected to add this originally, but the url is -

Gilmour - Live - 26-August-2006 Gdansk - Poland

One of Mr. Gilmour's final concerts for On An Island was at the shipyards of Gdansk, Poland. Four of the songs were broadcast on a local radio station. A friend was kind enough to record them... So, here you are... Four *stellar* tunes!

Part 1
Part 2

Gilmour - 2006-April-10 WAXQ

(Sorry about the blurry pic... It's from the original web page...)

Here you get a ~14 min radio appearance from two sources - an original web stream capture and a .mp3 source that was available for download later. Interestingly enough, there's another mention of a Joker's Wild reunion ... make what you will of that.

Gilmour - 2006-April-10 Bob & Tom Show

One should never say that Mr. Gilmour did not promote On An Island properly. He did dozens of radio shows. I was able to capture many of the radio shows as web streams. I gathered a few from torrents and from friends who recorded off-air. I'm going to share the best quality versions that I own. If you have a better quality version, I'd love to hear from you!

Bob & Tom

The Bob & Tom show appearance is only 10 min or so, is a web stream capture, and is mostly funny because they advocate a Joker's Wild reunion & give David a hard time about playing the saxophone. Enjoy!

David Gilmour - 2006-05-06 - XM Artist Confidential

David Gilmour - On An Island - introductions

Only days before On An Island was released, a few web sites offered streaming versions of the songs. These web streams were mostly of interest due to the fact that each song was introduced & described by Mr. Gilmour. These introductions have, to date, never appeared anywhere else. To be honest, I have really enjoyed them. I even spliced them into a rip of the official CD for casual listening at work.

David Gilmour - Mermaids

Mr. Gilmour played at the Mermaid Theater in 2006. The concert was filmed & broadcast by BBC radio. A few selected songs were later shown on television, but the complete concert film was never shown. The initial version, a 5 camera mix, was streamed by the BBC shortly after the concert. The second version, a 9 camera mix, was streamed by the BBC some months later. Both versions are available here along with various audio recordings. Among these audio recordings are the versions streamed on the BBC's web site as well as a digital radio capture. These are all of the existing versions of the show that I am aware of.... But, if you have others....

David Gilmour - 2006-April-20 - Leno

As you, no doubt, recall, Mr. Gilmour appeared on The Tonight Show. They broadcast one song, but actually filmed two. Both songs later appeared, briefly, online. Download both here.

Roger Waters - 28 March 1985 - New York

Roger Waters - Radio City Music Hall, NYC, New York - 28 March 1985

Just like the Gilmour 1984 Allentown recording, this one was recorded off-air from WXRT in Chicago onto a reel to reel deck. This original reel was transferred to CD and then ripped to .shn for your listening pleasure.

Sorry that there are so many parts... It's a long concert, presented at the best possible sound quality!

David Gilmour - 12 July 1984 - Allentown

This reel contains recordings made off-air in Chicago, IL on WXRT. The original recording media was a reel-to-reel tape. This was professionally transferred to audio CDs. I ripped the audio to .wav and converted to .shn.

David Gilmour - Stabler Arena, Allentown, Pennsylvania (with Sue Evans on percussion) - 12 July 1984
