notes:
- This tape has no serious/notable speed troubles. The tape (presumably the master and not just this dub) has some sudden drastic volume changes, and the whole thing is hissy. The sound is not too murky or distant. A lot of hiss and a some bass rumbling noise, but otherwise it's reasonably clear and all instruments can be heard most of the time. The distortion is not too bad....less than the usual. Apart from the occasional sudden volume changes the tape is fairly free of dropouts. Not many crackles. A few mic handling noises. There doesn't seem to be any any real signal above ~9 kHz. The tape runs nearly complete, just a few cuts.
- Source walkthrough: Intro {starts pre-song, cutting in as Mitch is testing the drums. The level drops a couple seconds after the tape starts. Some microphone handling noises, and a few crackles}, "Fire" (67), "Room Full of Mirrors" (14), "Hear My Train A Comin'" (40) {level suddenly rises about a minute into the song}, "Lover Man" (28) {level suddenly changes a few times a minut or so into to the song, staying low for the remainder of the song}, "Red House" (63), {cut; Seems to be a cut or quick microphone unplug & plug-in after the end and before the next song. Levels seem to he higher after this cut}, "Message to Love" (28) {the start of this song is the loudest part so far on tape apart from the very brief drum beats at the very start before "Fire" (67). The level drops suddenly a minute or so into the song}, {cut; some tuneup and spoken intro seem to be missing}, "Ezy Rider" (19) {the level jumps up a minute or so into the song, and bounce up and down a couple times at approx. 2:00}, {cut with the taper apparently doing a "one two three testing" check, with just "one" surviving on the tape}, "Machine Gun" (16) {the very start is missing}, "Start Spangled Banner" (32), "Foxy Lady" (79), "Voodoo Child (Slight Return)" (68), "Purple Haze" (88) {level drops a minute or so into the song (right channel only). Tape ends after the applause dies down at after end of the song}.
- The Existence of the Ketchum Source had been unknown to the general public as well as to hardcore collectors until it's rediscovery and subsequent release on this CD in 2001.
