LIGHTNING HOPKINS ASH GROVE SANTA MONICA, CALIFORNIA NOVEMBER 25, 1970 11:00 PM SHOW
LIGHTNING HOPKINS- VOCALS AND GUITAR
Master: 1 Sennheiser 805 shotgun microphone > Uher 4000 1/2 track R2R Recorder @ 7 1/2 ips on 5" 3M Scotch tapes (mono) My Copy: 1/2 track 5" Masters > Revox B-77 (w/ Dolby) > Sony DTC-690 Transfer: Sony DTC-690 > Audigy 4 Pro (via Toslink) > Audacity > CD Wav > Flac (Level 8)
1. Your Evil Ways(?) 2. How Long Blues (spliced @ 13:17) 3. 1910 (?) 4. Goin' To Louisianna Gonna Get Me A Mojo Hand(?) 5. I Was Born By The Devil (Ol' Lightning Don't want To Be Baptized)(?) 6. Gonna Sell My Old Car and Buy Me A Limosine(?) 7. Instrumental (unknown title) 8. Goodnight encore: 9. Baby Please Don't Go [39:59]
Another gem from the TMOQ vault. Audacity was used to clean up the dropouts and other unwanted noises. To make this easier to listen to the loudest claps between songs were removed or muffled. No Eq or noise reduction (except the Dolby B on my reel). Some crackling can be heard in places and comes from the master tape. Tape flip at 21:12 (between songs). Mike Martin 9/2010
Thanks for this. FWIW, the Ash Grove was at 8162 Melrose Ave. in the City of Los Angeles not Santa Monica. Tho starting in 1984 that location and surrounding area became the city of West Hollywood in Los Angeles County.
