Here is another of Storm Thorgerson's documentaries. In it, he tries to answer another intractable question. Do mind-altering drugs help or hinder the artistic process? There are those who would say that drugs provide inspiration or allow different types of thought. But, others may suggest that drugs do all sorts of things (depending upon the drug) - mood swings, addiction, severe alteration of thought, which would prevent (or at least slow down) the artistic process. Mr. Thorgerson interviews loads of artists and historians and biographers to try to get the best possible answer. This is a 2 part documentary. The first part covers all of history up to about 1955.
