Comments:

Recorded live on 16 Nov 1971, at the Lisner Auditorium in Washington, DC. An excellent live audience recording, very clean and very low gen. Other versions of this show had considerable problems with edits between songs, strange volume levels and complete drop outs. All those problems have now been corrected and the results net a fantastic early Floyd show. OfTD is a really spacey version, considerably different and longer than most other versions. Echoes is presented by its working title, a little bit of humor from the boys. Dave seems to be in great spirits and loses control during the end of Cymbaline.

Set List:

Disc: 1

01 Embryo 12:36
02 Fat Old Sun 14:30
03 Set The Controls For The Heart Of The Sun 14:26

Strange. My flacs pass md5 but exhibit drop outs. For example from about 10:30 in Echoes (lasting for minutes) there are several drop outs.

Now no complaint but your text suggests the drop outs are fixed.

Can you listen and comment

It's not "my" text file, I am afraid. I didn't write it. I just shared it exactly as I received it. If you've passed inspection by the .md5, you have exactly the same files that I do. Sorry!

Fair enough. I shouldn't have assumed.

Just for the record can you confirm you hear the same drop outs.

And also can I take this opportunity to say thanks for posting.

I'm mainly interested in the pre DSOTM because of the way they played the material different to the record. "Careful" from Boblingen is a good example. A brilliant version that beats the pants of the versions on the single and Ummagumma. So I was very pleased to find this site last month. I'm only sorry I didn't find it 11 months earlier as some of the older posts are now expired.

Thanks
