Yes folks, you have read the description correctly. This is lossy sourced but this is the best that has ever been available to date (i.e.never).
If you mess with this or re-release in any form then that's fine with us! We had nothing to do with it other than release it but if you could mention 'Yellow Cow Records' as being the original source for these tracks it would be appreciated : )
A pity IO's recording wasn't up to snuff - it's a great performance, like a perfect transition between the early tripped performances to the more focused and methodical ones of 70
First off, I gotta say that I love this CD so freaking much! The version of "Interstellar Overdrive" that was cut from Ummagumma has been legendary in PF fan circles for years, that to finally hear it is a dream come true. The aggravating thing about it for years was that we all knew it was out there somewhere...John Peel got a copy, among others, and we all knew it was supposed to be great. It sure doesn't disappoint, and I would love to hear other high-quality PF shows from 1968-1969.
A question about "Astronomy Domine." The vocals are so different in this mix, it makes me wonder if Dave and Rick actually re-recorded them in the studio? I don't think even if you mixed the vocals together on this version and lowered them in the mix that you would end up with what's on Ummagumma. What does everyone else think? Are these the same vocals that made it on to Ummagumma?
