Time For Some Stumpin
Once again, I feel compelled to have to explain that there's just no way that I can share things by certain bands. They're just weird about it. Even if a big pile of new grooviness were to fall from the sky, there's just nothing that I could do about it. The big Robyn Hitchcock marathon will start soon enough. But, before that, there's Floyd on the way... And, if that doesn't float your boat, just leave a comment.

Hey, I'm just along for the ride. One thing I would like to see for the recordings you post is a quality rating of sorts...I know earlier posts had these, but this last batch of PF doesn't seem to say anything.
I came across your site about a year ago but I have to admit I still don't have any idea what the Cones are about. And now lately, the Stumps? Care to offer a clue?
In any event, Cone on!
In short, regarding the stumps, if you cut down a tree, you get a stump. Someone recently cut down a bunch of recordings by a band whose name references trees. It's surreal humour, dammit!!!
Regarding the Cones, once again it's surrealism... but, this time, it's a little more subtle. Surrealism is using real things in unreal ways. A pig in a farm yard is nothing of particular interest. But, a pig between smoke stacks ... well, that's surreal.
Love the stuff
keep up the fine work
Thanks to anonymous for the stump links much appreciated regards The Old Fool
hey dr. forrester you are doing a great job...just keep the floyd coming man..can`t get enough of the floyd....best band in the universe......
I agree w/ Jason, I'm just along for the ride. I dig what you do here and thank you for putting up these shows. As far as the band whose name references trees, I see what you did there... I like your description of surrealism, spot on. I also agree w/ anon just above me, Pink Floyd is the best band in the universe.
Jason - As for reviews, Tomi & I always try to include the information files in the comments section, to try to give you some sense of what you would be getting. Often, honestly, I have not made an effort to compare recordings in an organized, analytical way. HOWEVER, I always publish comments from anyone who offers their opinion on a given recording. So, if you want to take a moment to write a sentence or two for the recordings that you know, I would really welcome that!
The Stumps are an invitation for tree lovers everywhere to go on a little easter egg hunt. There have been several successful hunters ... Their success inspires me to go on creating future hunts... Maybe as soon as a day or two from now.
