Johnny Winter at Chicago, Illinois - September 17, 1970

Set List (about 60 minutes):
1. guess I'll go away
2. good morning little schoolgirl
3. rock'n'roll hoochie koo
4. it's my own fault
5. highway 61 revisited
6. johnny b. goode

medley:
7. mean town blues [a small cut in the first minute, almost unnoticeable; with slide guitar jam]
8. walking blues
9. mean town blues [conclusion]

source: excellent soundboard recording for this vintage (of course it does not match nowadays standard), with minor flaws on the second half of track 4 and on the first half of track 5. Will include Mp3 samples.

After the 69's torrent yesterday, I've received many requests - keep sending them, my goal is upload every request. I decided to choose this one, another excellent performance full of guitar solos by Johnny & Rick Derringer, in a chronological order. Then the next one will be a 1971 recording and so on.

I've been upgrading this recording all over the years and this one is the best till today, was sent me in a cdr by mesquite (thanx again, Glen). I've just done a few editions with Adobe Auditon 2.0 software to adjust volumes and re-index the tracks.

This recording is mostly known only as on the tile and it is the same presented on the bootleg CD "White Lightning". On the bootleg cover is stated that the venue was Aragon Ballroom and the date is September 25, but I'm not sure. The sound on the bootleg is too much compressed & edited to hide the hiss (indeed from a high generation tape copy), not to forgetting it has many cuts - it's only 54 minutes long. The sound quality of this torrent is far superior, from a much lower generation tape. From now on, your copy of "White Lightning" becomes useless.

Thanks, for the great blues tunes played by Johnny Winter. The sound is very good for the most part. The performances are exceptional.
