  1. Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii - Restored 1974 Cut

This is an attempt at restoring Adrian Maben’s "Pink Floyd: Live at Pompeii." This is the version of the film that everyone knows and loves, released in 1974 as an extension of the cut from two years prior. Not only are we treated to some breathtaking cinematography and a taste of the Floyd’s haunting music, but also interviews with the band members and footage of them working on what is now considered one of music's most beloved albums, "The Dark Side of the Moon."

    Audio/Video Specs:

    Audio Format: Linear PCM
    Bit Depth: 16 bits
    Sampling Rate: 48 kHz
    Bit Rate: 1,536 kbps

    Video Format: NTSC
    Frame Rate: 23.976 fps
    Scanning: Progressive
    Aspect Ratio: 1.33:1
    Runtime: 83 minutes

    Designation: DVD-5

The video sources used in this project include the “Original Concert Film” found on the PAL Director’s Cut DVD and a transfer of the NTSC PMV LaserDisc. Audio was remastered by MOB.

This is by no means a perfect restoration, but until the day that a proper and more definitive restoration of this overlooked film is released to the public, this will have to do.

  2. Thanks, Dr. F. I've been waiting for this version, since it's the one I grew up with...I had it first on videodisc, then on VHS. So many memories...and missing memories.

  3. Wow .. been looking for this version for ages. Threw my VHS of this away when I bought the dvd, not realising the director's cut would be so bad. Many thanks!!!!

  4. When I attempt to download all but the first file, the computer warns of a possible computer threat. Not believing this, I continued, and my router froze. Don't know what the problem is, but don't like it. Unplugging and replugging the router clears the problem

  5. No idea. The links all work for me. Perhaps your issue is your anti-virus software? Just a guess. Perhaps you could try a different machine & compare?

  7. Fixed it. The problem was the router software. It seemed like cisco thought hotfile was a dangerous website! Thank you very much for all the floyd.

  8. My favorite version is the laser disc
with the music speed corrected ( thanks whoever did that ! ). I also like the Quad audio sync on blue ray.

I own beta HiFi releases of Pompeii. I wore out the first one so Had to replace it. I think the second was in a modified VHS cover and cost a couple of bucks.
