A few days ago I visited a friend who is a huge Gabriel live shows collector and I asked him to borrow the one show he really
felt needed to be put on digital format. We both agreed that this had to come from the fall 1983 tour which is absolutely
our favourite. There, Gabriel reached his absolute peak of perfection and integration with the rest of the band. He never
reached that level in the following tours. He selected this show in Avignon and you won't be disappointed by this show.
The performance is strong, the recording clearly reflects this. This one was acquired one year after this show so it's a
low generation source, although my friend does not remember if he obtained it from the taper. So, in absence of clear
evidence, I will only state hat this is a low generation source. This is an excellent recording, considering that it is
almost 25 years old. I did not alter the original sound, except for a bit cut of some hiss. Also, I took the freedom to
adjust a little the overall pitch since the tape was running a bit too fast, according to my ears and what I remember from
that tour. the result is truly amazing, a real must-have!

    Enjoy!
