  1. LDB Master Series #135

Hello, this is a collection of masters I would like to seed here. I've been taping shows for more than 20 years and have an
awful lot of masters. Most of them are in the old cassette format, some others are on MiniDisc and others are on CD. I've
taped many shows of many artists over the years, so don't be surprised if you will find many different artists taped! Some
shows are already circulating, some others have not circulated through collectors yet. But most of all, enjoy!
They all come from my masters!

Summer 1987 was a busy period for me. I was still a high school student but preferred to spend the (few) money to go on tour
instaed of having fun with friends and girlfriends. Travelling was hard, by train or bus (no low cost airlines back then!)
and McDonalds the most frequent place for lunches. But I had a great time and met so many friends. Some of them are still
among my best friends after 21 years! Anyway, in May I saw two Genesis shows in Italy, June was spent to follow Peter
Gabriel's tour over 20+ dates, ending with three shows at Birmingham's NEC arena. The day after I came back to London to see
Genesis at wembley stadium on the 3rd and the day after I had the privilege to take the only flight of the season to come
back home and then join some friends who were driving 50 miles north, in the swiss town of Locarno to see Marillion...crazy
    schedule!

Locarno 1987 is one of my fond memory from that tour. Many friends told me that Locarno was the best show of the whole
Clutching at Straws tour. Having listened to about one hundred shows from that tour, I can only agree. The show was in the
beautiful Piazza Grande, close to the lake and completely outdoor. Lots of fans mixed to casual tourists made the atmosphere
somehow magic and the band simply delivered one of their best performance ever. When I saw them again the year after in
Milano, the magic was gone. I remember Fish dressed as an harlequin, his vocal chords in great shape and very happy. This was
one of the first dates of the tour that had started a week or so before in Poland and the band used to change the setlist
quite often. This is the only show with Incommunicado as opener! The new material sounded to me an improvement from Misplaced
Childhood, loving the suite starting with Hotel Hobbies. And the Last Straw...what a great moment.

I am sure I am making lots of friends happy by making this show available. Actually I have two versions of this show in my
collection. Probably the one sourced from my master is slightly better. Soundwise it is ok, but of course it suffers from
limitations of the technology 21 years ago. I have reduced the speed by approx 3% because the tape was running a bit too fast.
Now it sounds exactly as I remember in Locarno. But the atmosphere and the excitement of that evening can be clearly be
heard here. This is another leap in my past, and hope you will enjoy it!

This one is dedicated to Bytor and Rummenigge, I will see you soon here in Paris!
