  1. Roger Waters
    Arena di Verona
    5 June 2006

Recorded using Sony PCM-M1 DAT with AT831s Series Microphones
    through a Low-Z to Hi-Z Input Transformer.

Mastered from DAT to Pioneer PDR-609 Stand alone CDR > CD Wave > > flac

This recording came out very well but there is some wind noise during
the first set as there was a storm brewing which we were lucky to almost
avoid during the gig. This does not in my opinion detract to any great
degree from the enjoyment of the recording.

    18. Comfortably Numb

This was always going to be any interesting test for me.

I saw two David Gilmour gigs in Manchester and London followed by the two
Roger Waters gigs in Verona all within 11 days. You already know from my
previously torrented recording of Manchetser how great I thought the
    David Gilmour gig was.

Personally I have always been a fan of Roger's work above that of David since
the split in 1987. That is not to say I am not a Gilmour fan so please do not
start that thread here. But after the Manchester and London gigs I thought
Roger would not be able to top them. How wrong I was proved to be.

The whole live presentation of the music by Roger and band is done from a
completely different perspective to that of David. Whilst David's gig was more
laid back and well mannered, Roger's, in comparison, is a full on rock show.

The setlist was excellent and was tweeked just enough from the 1999/2000/2002
to include a number of interesting additions. It was great to see "The Gunner's
Dream" back for the first time since the Pros and Cons tour in 1984/1985. Also
to see him play "The Fletcher Memorial Home" for the first time as well as "Sheep"
for the first time in 29 years were treats.

But let's not dwell on specific songs. The show as a whole works magnificently.

This recording is from the second of the two nights in Verona. I recorded the first
night too but it misses the encores due to technical difficulties. I will post it
anyway as it is until I can find another recording to patch the missing encores from.

Finally I would like to dedicate this recording to a few English guys who I met in a bar
near the backstage entrance to the Arena di Verona on Sunday. It was nice talking to you
and I know we all had a ball these two nights.

I have included a few photos I took. If anyone with any expertise wants to use them to
make some artwork then please feel free.

    Enjoy

    davem
