The longest, best quality version of the It Would Be So Nice film (that I have seen so far) comes from an Italian documentary called Eventi Pop. This is a one hour program that, very frustratingly, shows only about 1 minute each of about 60 bands. Rather than make you download the entire program, I'll just share the Floyd clip...
Although...
ReplyDeleteIf you do have the complete show I'd love
to download it: it has mostly unseen footage
of lost of Italian and international groups...
Thanx anyway, Xuh
It is true that there are scores of obscure bands in the documentary - and I do have the whole thing. But, as I said in the post, there is only about 1 min of footage for each band. That's just enough to get you interested, then they cruelly cut away. In the end, I felt like travelling to Italy and asking some people some very unhappy questions.
ReplyDeleteDr. F.
I should have specified that I AM from Italy (and so are probably some of your visitors), and that the "Eventi Pop" series isn't just a collection of truncated clips but a sort of "history of pop" generally introduced by some aged local rock-star and commented by a (sadly) Italian voice-over. Some instalments have been very popular and float around the Internet: this one has eluded me so far;
ReplyDeletebut it's true that the connection with Pink Floyd is minimal, so if you don't feel like upping the whole show it I'll understand...
Thanks anyway, Xuh
