The Happily Everafter

Here

I was drafted into this band that was really musically more advanced than my playing. They already had their own style which was a cross between Kate Bush, The Incredible String Band and Downey Mildew. It was a good experience in that it was the tightest outfit I have ever been in and played in front of real audiences. It was also great to play with long time friend and mentor David Fleminger however since I did not  live in San Francisco there was little time for musical collaboration on my part.  The cover art is an etching by Dave that he called "Eye Of The Storm".

Testaments, Leftovers, Colaborations

Here

The name TLC was a play on Tender Loving Care. It featured 2 songs that I had written that year ( 1997 ) that took me a long time to complete due to the emotion involved ( "Cause Of Death", "Such A Crime", ) and other songs that I had help on ( "Laughing At Me" features the late Joe Kazska on guitar, "Something Wrong In My Brain" and " The Key" co-written by the late Chris Morris, "Planning A Murder" written by Vance Haemmerle and Mark Haemmerle played guitar and drums on Cause Of Death, Such A Crime, Planning A Murder, On A Plane ). The others were either alternate mixes of things recorded at DeVry Phoenix or things I did not previous put on a compact disc because simply, they suck ( Moved Away, Reflection ).

Songs For Emily (the Elephant)

Here

This was the second compilation of my songs cira 1995 put together that was mainly the epic "Elephant's Prayer" which we attempted to make a video for, and songs recorded after putting Decaying Masters together. My favorite here is " Gone" which I often played live solo acoustic. Most of the tracks are plagued with bad timing as I decided to do live drums as my friend Joe Kazcka used to do. Unfortunately I tended to do things in one take and just go with the results ( Happy 30th, Remember, Feeling Ill ).

Polecats 4 Peace

Here

The two 4-track demos the band recorded, the first produced by me and featuring Travis Roberts on bass, the second produced by Mark Shafer of Caterwaul and I play bass on the recordings. There is also the complete 91x radio spot with Marco Collins and a few rough recordings of "Song".

Covered Covers Uncovered

Here

A Silly collection of cover songs ranging from absurdly grating to only mildly annoying ;) The artwork for was done by Chris Morris.

A Collection of Decaying Masters

Here

The first disc of mostly my original material which I still consider to be my best recordings compiled circa 1994 and recorded 1987-1994 . It features two songs ( Someone, Last Of A Dying Breed ) recorded at Greenhaus studios ( Dave Fleminger ). The rest were DeVry and on Caterwauls 6-track recorder in Burbank featuring Mark Shafer and Betsy Martin.

The original demo of Warm To Cold which became a Polecats for Peace version 2 song but sounds more like Caterwaul.  The second song I recorded with Joe Kazcka doing drums and production ( Rough Life ). Named Decaying as most of the mixes were to cassette > DAT > PC.

Boo & Democracy

Here

Boo was David Fleminger's 4th or 5th incarnation of the Answers sound ( but controlled by Chris Gasht who could barley stand on stage ). They were asked by Arthur Lee to back his Forever Changes reunion tour but Boo disbanded due to instability of its controller, so Arthur settled for Baby Lemonade. Arthur had seen Boo live and said they had the right energy.

Democracy are all demos by David Fleminger from around that same time, 1994 with many tracks intended for the band Boo. Several Epic tracks here in my opinion.

The Boo drawing is by Dave Fleminger.
