Download Manager

I happened to think that perhaps some people have premium Rapidshare accounts, but are not able to effectively use the resource for which you have paid. What you need is a download manager. You just load it with links, then hop off to work or to bed. The software will download one file after the next for days & days if needed to get everything for you.

I put some tools and instructions here.

Let me know if you have any questions, etc. Hopefully, this will make grabbing the larger posts much easier for some people.

Questions & Answers # 3

There's nothing that I like more than an interview that I haven't seen or heard previously. Call me weird, but I'm not a big fan of live recordings... There are good ones, don't get me wrong. To me, though, they get old pretty fast. Interviews, on the other hand, contain a much larger percentage of new material or information.

It was with great delight that I was given the Q&A DVD series. They're all interviews. Breathe has done an incredible job of collecting and assembling these projects for us. Technology & time willing, I will bring you the entire series.. You need them all!

Eventi Pop - The Whole Darn Thing

By request, the complete Eventi Pop documentary. It features some incredible clips of some great bands... I just wish that each clip lasted for more than 1 minute. The Floyd section is listed below. But, if you want the complete DVD project, you can get all 34 links here.

Official Corrective Post - Miami Soundboard

The links for the Miaimi Soundboard post have been replaced with new files. Hopefully, this time, they'll work for y'all. I verified the .flac files and then packed to .rar. Then, I extracted from the .rar and verified the resulting .flac files. All seemed good on this end. So, give it a whirl & see what happens... Thanks for reporting the problem so quickly!

The Creeping Malaise - Vancouver - 08-April-75 - MoLM

I was unable to locate any cover art for this Men of Leisure Music release. I found their web site. But, there was nothing on it about cover art, so I guess we're out of luck.

Still, this is a jolly nice recording from one of the tours that is typically under-represented. Grab it & love it!

Floyd - 1977-March-15 - Master

This is an odd case.. One of the files is called "15-3-77 MASTER + IF PIGS COULD FLY- 1977-03-15" The title, "If Pigs Could Fly" generally refers to a different show (from January 1977). However, all of the dates in all of the files for this guy are consistent. (1977-March-15) No worries there. Personally, I would suggest disregarding the references to flying pigs.

It didn't come with any art. Bummer.

Official Corrective Post - HRV 033 BBC 1974

It turns out that I accidently included a corrupt version of Echoes in the BBC 1974 post. In the event that you have not yet downloaded these files, I have replaced the links in the original post with new links that will give you the entire, correct 2-CD set.

However - If you have already downloaded the files and just need to replace Echoes, I have uploaded it here -

Just replace your old file with the above new one & you should be all set! Sorry for the trouble!

Eventi Pop - It Would Be So Nice

The longest, best quality version of the It Would Be So Nice film (that I have seen so far) comes from an Italian documentary called Eventi Pop. This is a one hour program that, very frustratingly, shows only about 1 minute each of about 60 bands. Rather than make you download the entire program, I'll just share the Floyd clip...

TPRDVD002 - Behind The Wall

A great, great documentary - mostly about The Wall, as the title might imply... Click on the cover art for details.

Omnibus 1994 - TPR DVD 001 RevA

This is just a wonderful, wonderful DVD. It is the first, and I believe, only place to show the Tomorrow's World film. It features interviews with any number of friends of the band. The early history is treated very well. This show was broadcast only once - so copies are pretty scarce and good copies even more so. I thought my VHS copy was pretty impressive until a friend kindly passed along this DVD. It is simply stunning.

This is one of the absolutely essential documentaries on the band - and this release is the best quality copy you'll ever see. It's your for only 30 quick downloads...

Omnibus!

David Gilmour Interview - BBC Radio Four - 17-Oct-01

I would hate for Mr. Gilmour to be left out... I happened to find this 6 min piece. Sadly, the sound quality is pretty bad. But, this is the only copy I have found to date. If you can help out with a better copy, I would happily post it for everyone to share.

Roger Waters Interviews 1999

I was just dusting out the old Psychedelic Closet when I happened to discover a few more interviews... For those late comers, this blog was originally set up for the sole purpose of sharing a bunch of interviews and radio shows. Have a look through the archives. There are dozens of obscure radio shows waiting for you to rediscover them!

In the meantime, please enjoy these short Roger Waters pieces -

HHOCD001 - 1988-08-01 The Black Knight and the Fishermen

On the morning of August 1st 1988, several members of the touring Pink Floyd was invitedto a small party at Annabels Night Club (Lille Kongensgade 16 at Kongens Nytorv, Copenhagen.).This party was arranged by the Danish branch of EMI, most likely as a Birthday party forthe Floyds personal security manager Barrie Knight. The low-key “Fishermen” gig was mostlikely not a planned event. Like so many times before “The Fishermen” seem to have takento the stage using the in-house equipment, in a spur of the moment. The reason I guessthis is because the person at the mixer board spend the first 20 minutes of the showstruggling to get the different levels up. Guitars, vocals and piano (specifically) goup and down to a point where the otherwise, silent, David Gilmour, barks at the personat the mixer board.

The set for the evening consist of the “usual” Fishermen set of old Rhythm and Blues and motown classics, including Aretha Franklins “Respect” and “Rock Steady” and the unique rendition of Sugarhill Gangs “Rappers Delight” (First and only time you will hear the Pink Floyd play rap music).

Tracks:
1.Respect
2. Can't Get Enough
3. Blues
4. My Girl
5. Rock Steady - Rapper's Delight - Le Freak - Rock Steady
6. Master Blaster
7. Superstition

Barnes & Barnes - Zabagabee DVD

Some of the oddest videos you'll ever see...

CD - Roger Waters - Soundchecks 1999-Aug

Here we have a collection of soundcheck recordings. They come from -

1) 1999 August 27 (St. Louis, MO)
2) 1999 August 24 (Indianapolis, IN)
3) 1999 August 25 (Grand Rapids, MI)
4) 1999 July 27 (Cleveland, OH)
5) 1999 August 28 (Kansas City, MO)

The first 52 minutes of the Cleveland soundcheck sound great. After that, it's distorted. It came from an audio CD that had "ASPI issues".

There aren't really many of what you might call "songs". It's mostly just more or less random noises. One nice thing is that sometimes you get to hear sound effects from the songs in isolation. If you're patient and shopping for a particular sound effect, this might be a nice place to start looking. Otherwise, honestly, you might want to skip this set. It's not really for pleasure listening.
